Episode 28: Alternative Grading: Working With Students, Not Against Them with David Clark and Robert Talbert
Summary
The US educational grading system was adopted over 100 years ago from the USDA system of grading beef. While grades reflect something, one doesn’t have to think long or hard to realize that grades don’t necessarily reflect student learning. In this episode Dr. Robert Talbert and Dr. David Clark discuss their efforts to ensure, as best they can, that grades reflect learning in their courses, and that in doing so have generated an environment in which students focus less on their grades and more on learning. Wouldn’t we all like to experience that! Listen and Share.
